The album "Lang" and the MV "Bang qua canh rung" by Meritorious Artist Duong Thuy Anh made her erhu teacher, Mr. Dang Van Ha, more than moved. He said that he always teaches his students to bring the latest things to the audience, integrating with contemporary music life, but Duong Thuy Anh's two new music products still show the difficulty for the player.

Duong Thuy Anh released two music products with the two-stringed fiddle.

Mr. Dang Van Ha shared: "With Duong Thuy Anh's MV, we thank musician Vo Thien Anh for his techniques and extremely difficult intervals. The difficulty here is that with this kind of music, I still find it possible to sing Xam. Xam is always associated with the two-stringed instrument. In the work with Xam, musician Vo Thien Thanh (composer and arranger) has brought in some Xam singing points of artist Ha Thi Cau combined with very modern harmony."

Meritorious Artist Duong Thuy Anh said she was the one who suggested asking musician Vo Thien Thanh to use folk materials in this album. "The erhu always has a folk color. Thuy Anh wants each song in this erhu album to have a regional folk quality. The most typical are cheo, xam, then Hue , and the northern mountainous region are all mixed in," she said.

Duong Thuy Anh's music products contain many folk elements.

Not only the erhu, but also the bamboo flute and monochord in Duong Thuy Anh's new album and MV are very harmoniously combined. "The sound of the erhu is like a thread that connects everything into a story of crossing the forest," Duong Thuy Anh said.

Musician Bao Lan, a member of the group Nam Dong Ke, who also performed in Duong Thuy Anh's new music product, said: "In the work Vu dieu dom dom , there are many accidental improvisations. Thuy Anh likes xam and plays xam. But Lan's part on the monochord at that time, Lan had no idea what she would play. Vo Thien Thanh told her to just play the instrument according to her feelings.

When we finished recording, we listened again and found the color of musician Nguyen Thien Dao. By chance, both Thuy Anh and I played in his concertos. It seemed like there was a spiritual element. The Xam songs of Mr. Cau and musician Nguyen Thien Dao continued with each other, breaking the borders of one region to another.

Duong Thuy Anh wants to bring healing music

Listening is the second album of Meritorious Artist Duong Thuy Anh. This is also the product for her to celebrate 40 years of passion for the two-stringed instrument. During these 40 years, Duong Thuy Anh has revealed very "crazy" qualities like a person who sublimates to the point of burning on stage. She has a skillful, sophisticated and skillful way of handling sound. Duong Thuy Anh also attracts listeners and viewers with her performance through her unique style.

These qualities are expressed through Listening and Crossing the Forest in the special emotional transformation. There, musician Vo Thien Thanh and Duong Thuy Anh chose the New Age & World music genre, an open and global music genre, to organize a musical space with both modern and traditional Vietnamese instruments.

More importantly, musician Vo Thien Thanh and artist Duong Thuy Anh chose New Age & World music to spread energy with sound waves that bring positive emotions and happiness to listeners.

The image of the old forest in the MV Crossing the Forest also carries the same idea. In this forest, people see people overcoming their wounds and being healed by the forest, regenerating new energy.

"We have also been and are crossing the forest as the metaphor that this work wants to convey," said the MV's creative team. This is also the healing energy that Duong Thuy Anh wants to send to the public.
