On September 9, Hanoi Medical University organized the event “Match Day 2025 - Registration Day for Resident Physicians in 2025”. Here, excellent candidates entered the important moment.

According to the procedure, each candidate is called in order of exam results and has 30 seconds to call out their major preference. The candidate with the highest score will be selected first, and each major that has enough quota will be closed. Candidates at the bottom of the list will have to choose other majors that still have quota.

As the top 20 candidates shouted out their choices, many specialties continued to assert their strong appeal, such as Obstetrics and Gynecology, Plastic Surgery. Notably, the impressive return of the Cardiology specialty in the top 5, with the choice of new resident physician Dang Thi Ngoc Linh.

Despite being in the top 5 and having the right to choose many hot majors, Ngoc Linh was still determined to pursue Cardiology - one of the very difficult majors in medicine, rarely chosen by residents. Cardiology is a medical specialty that specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases related to the heart and the vascular system in the body. Cardiologists will combine the use of many different methods such as clinical examination, imaging diagnosis and testing to find the cause, assess the condition and provide appropriate intervention and treatment for each case.
