Mr. Le Van Thai, Head of Da Dun village, said that the water level of the Buoi River has been rising and causing flooding for 5 days now. Currently, people have not had to evacuate, however, food and drinking water have been exhausted, and they have to rely on relief from local authorities and volunteer groups.

“Every year during the rainy season, the water floods here, but then recedes. This year, the flood water is very strange. It has been flooded for 5 days and there are still no signs of it receding,” said Mr. Thai.

“We live along the Buoi River and there is no dike, so whenever it rains heavily and the river rises, we get flooded. In previous years, the river water also flooded our houses, but it only receded for a day or two. This year, the water has been stagnant for 5 days and there is still no sign of it receding, causing us a lot of difficulties,” Dung shared.
