Experience and career guidance from an early age.

At the booths, many hands-on vocational skills activities attracted the attention of students, such as: car repair, beverage mixing, nail art, food preparation, etc. In particular, the booth of the Hanoi Vocational College of Transportation and Public Works, with its model of a training vehicle, became a vibrant destination, attracting a large number of students to visit and learn.

According to Tran Van Chinh, Deputy Head of the Automotive Technology Department, the school currently trains students in 20 vocational fields at the intermediate level, with over 1,000 students each year. “Through this event, we hope to help junior high school students develop a proper understanding of vocational training, grasp the training roadmap and job opportunities, and thus choose a profession that suits their abilities and interests,” Mr. Tran Van Chinh shared.

According to Bui Van Thai, Vice Principal of Xi'an Vocational College of Technology, the school is currently training students in 16 intermediate-level trades such as geological surveying, land surveying, business accounting, and telecommunications electronics. Students who have graduated from junior high school will study vocational subjects concurrently with their general education for three years, upon graduation receiving both an intermediate vocational diploma and a continuing education certificate.

Participating in career counseling and guidance events helps parents and students understand career paths, how to choose a profession, what kind of career to pursue, and provides opportunities to experience vocational training.

Do Tien Dat, a student from Hong Ha Secondary School in O Dien commune, said that after directly experiencing and receiving advice, he became even more interested in the automotive repair profession. "The event was very beneficial, helping us understand that learning a trade is also a solid path to a successful career," Tien Dat expressed.

Not only students, but many parents also appreciate the significance of the Fair. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, a parent of a student at Lien Hong Secondary School, commented that organizing the Fair with the participation of many vocational training institutions has helped parents gain more information to support their children in choosing their future.

The highlight of this year's event was the first-ever large-scale, centralized career counseling and guidance activity organized by O Dien commune, attracting a large number of students, parents, and teachers.

Previously, career counseling was mainly implemented on a small scale within junior high schools. However, the 2026 Career Counseling Day created an open, visual, and vibrant space for students to access comprehensive and multifaceted career information.

Fundamental solutions to improve the quality of local human resources.

Recognizing the demands of the labor market in the context of digital transformation and deep integration, the leaders of O Dien commune have identified career guidance and student placement as a regular task for the entire political system. Over the past period, the commune has actively coordinated with vocational education institutions, schools, and mass organizations to provide accurate and transparent information about training fields, academic qualifications, and job opportunities after training.

This year's event features the participation of many reputable vocational education institutions in Hanoi, setting up booths for admissions counseling, vocational skills demonstrations, and displays of learning products. Through direct counseling and hands-on experience, students and parents have the opportunity to better understand vocational training, dispelling long-standing fears and prejudices.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of O Dien commune, Bui Thi Thu Hang, emphasized: The leaders of O Dien commune stressed that the family plays a particularly important role in career guidance. Understanding and respecting the aspirations of children, combined with proper guidance, will be the foundation to help students confidently pursue their chosen path. The event was organized in the context of O Dien commune actively implementing Plan No. 175/KH-UBND dated July 7, 2025, of the Hanoi People's Committee on disseminating and implementing the Project "Improving the quality of vocational education in Hanoi City in the period 2025 - 2030, with orientation to 2035". In which, career counseling, guidance, and student streaming after lower secondary school are identified as key, long-term tasks.

Developing human resources, especially skilled human resources, has always been identified by the Party and the State as one of the strategic breakthroughs that determine the success of the country's industrialization and modernization process. This viewpoint continues to be affirmed by the Central Committee and concretized by Hanoi City through many practical programs and projects.

According to the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of O Dien commune, organizing the 2026 Vocational Training Guidance and Counseling Day clearly demonstrates the determination of the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of the commune in implementing the Party's guidelines, State policies, and city policies into practice, in accordance with the specific conditions of the locality. "Vocational education and student streaming are not only the responsibility of the education sector but also fundamental solutions to improve the quality of labor, expand employment opportunities, ensure social security, and thereby promote sustainable socio-economic development," affirmed Ms. Bui Thi Thu Hang.

The 2026 Vocational Training and Career Guidance Fair not only contributes to raising social awareness about vocational education but also opens up many learning and career opportunities for the young generation of O Dien commune. Through this, it gradually forms a skilled workforce that meets the requirements of socio-economic development of the locality and the capital city in the new era.
