On September 4, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and a delegation of his country's Deputy Ministers, Ministers and business leaders arrived in Indonesia to attend the 43rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and related summits, the Khmer Times reported.
Mr. Hun Manet's delegation arrived in the capital Jakarta (Indonesia) at around 7:00 a.m. on September 4.

Mr. Hun Manet later had a private meeting with ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn.
Cambodian Prime Minister's Office spokesman Meas Sophorn said the main goal of the summit is to "promote the ASEAN Vision 2025 to enhance the bloc's influence by promoting core values and bringing benefits to member states."
“Mr. Hun Manet will attend discussions focusing on nurturing an ASEAN Community with diversity, long-term goals and people-centeredness,” the spokesperson said.
This is Hun Manet’s first overseas trip as Cambodian Prime Minister. He and his delegation are aiming to use the ASEAN meetings as a platform for Cambodia to expand bilateral and international cooperation and partnerships.
“In addition to the ASEAN Summit and related conferences, the Prime Minister will meet with other ASEAN leaders,” Mr. Meas Sophorn added.

On the evening of September 4, Mr. Hun Manet met with Indonesian President - Mr. Joko Widodo on the sidelines of the summit. The two leaders praised the close cooperation between Cambodia and Indonesia in recent times, especially in the fields of economics , trade, human resource training and the fight against terrorism and cross-border crimes.
Mr. Widodo also congratulated Mr. Hun Manet on becoming Prime Minister of Cambodia.
The 43rd ASEAN Summit will take place from September 4 to 7. In addition to ASEAN member countries, the summit will also be attended by ASEAN partners: South Korea, Japan, India, China, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Russia and the United States. Timor-Leste - an ASEAN observer - will also attend the summit.
