On August 4, information from the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 766 approving the election results for the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang.
Previously, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology , was mobilized and appointed by the Secretariat to join the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

On August 2, the 13th People's Council of Quang Ngai province held a thematic meeting to carry out personnel work under its authority.
At the meeting, 45/45 delegates of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province unanimously elected Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang as Chairman of the People's Committee of this province.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, 53 years old, from An Lao district, Hai Phong city. Mr. Giang has a PhD in economics .
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang used to hold the positions of Deputy Head of the Economic Department - Central Party Office; Head of Department, Secretary of the Politburo, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee. Since 2014, Mr. Giang has been Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province.
In 2020, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang was appointed Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.
