The ceremony was attended by Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Vice President, President of Vietnam Association for Promoting Education , Honorary President of CMC University Council; Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Executive Chairman of CMC Group, Chairman of CMC University Council.
On behalf of the Group and the CMC University Council, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh presented the appointment decision and congratulated the new Principal Nguyen Thanh Tung and emphasized: “The appointment of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung to the position of Principal of CMC University and Vice President of the Group is a strategic step, marking a new development stage of CMC University - a young university with great aspirations, gradually positioning itself as a leading training and research center in the fields of technology and innovation.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung expressed his honor and emotion when being entrusted with the responsibility by the Group's leaders and the University Council. He committed to working with the University to develop CMC University in a multidisciplinary and modern direction, with the goal of reaching a scale of over 15,000 students by 2033, expanding branches in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and building international standard training programs.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung also emphasized the special role of the School in the innovation ecosystem of CMC Corporation, affirming that it will continue to bring technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), into all activities of the School - from administration, training to communication.
Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan sent her congratulations and expressed her belief that with her capacity and enthusiasm, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung will work with the University to bring CMC University to remarkable development, becoming a spearhead in training human resources to serve national digital transformation.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung was born in 1976 in Hanoi. He defended his PhD thesis in Information Technology at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, China in 2014. He is an Associate Professor in 2019, with more than 20 international publications on AI and data science.
He joined CMC University in 2022 as Vice President, playing an important role in building strategies, training programs and developing the University's teaching staff.
