At the Great Hall of the People, Mr. Xi Jinping, 69 years old, was unanimously elected president by nearly 3,000 delegates attending the National People's Congress (NPC).
There are no other candidates in this election.

Mr. Xi Jinping also continues to hold the position of Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China for the next term.
Delegates also approved his selection of outgoing Vice Premier Han Zheng as vice president, succeeding Wang Qishan.
Mr. Liu Qi was elected as Secretary General of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress . According to Xinhua News Agency, Mr. Zhao Leji is Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress .
