On September 23, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Executive Committee held the first Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, with the participation of 443/446 delegates. In the 2020 - 2025 term, the new Thai Nguyen province (merged from Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces) will achieve an average economic growth rate of 7.3% per year. By 2025, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of Thai Nguyen province will reach VND 202,925 billion, 1.6 times higher than in 2020; GRDP per capita will reach VND 119 million, 1.5 times higher than in 2020.
Currently, industry is the main driving force behind Thai Nguyen's economic growth with 12 industrial parks, 40 industrial clusters, and an average annual increase in industrial production value of 8%...
Thai Nguyen attracted 228 foreign direct investment projects with total registered capital of over 11.2 billion USD.
Directing at the congress, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that from July 1, Thai Nguyen province was established on the basis of merging Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan, opening up space and scale of development, creating conditions and advantages for strong and diverse development. Accordingly, the first Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress needs to clearly identify potentials and advantages, select key tasks and breakthroughs to focus on leadership and direction, creating a new turning point in socio-economic development.
According to General Phan Van Giang, Thai Nguyen needs to pay attention to planning and planning management; clearly define its role and position in the northern key economic region and the Hanoi capital region; attach importance to regional linkages to create development momentum, affirming its role as the center of the midland and mountainous region of the North.
Suggesting development orientations for the coming term, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that Thai Nguyen focuses on developing high-tech industries; linking local industries with foreign-invested industries; developing infrastructure in industrial zones and clusters to attract investment; maintaining and enhancing the "Thai Nguyen tea" brand...

Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, affirmed that the first Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress is a particularly important milestone, of historical significance for the new Thai Nguyen province, after the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces. The Congress set a goal of striving by 2030 for Thai Nguyen to become a large, modern economic and industrial center not only of the Northern midland and mountainous region but also of the Hanoi capital region.
The Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress announced the Politburo's decisions to appoint members of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Inspection Committee member, Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Inspection Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
Accordingly, the Executive Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, term I, 2025 - 2030, has 65 members. Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, is Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh is Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Hoang Son is Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Dinh Quang Tuyen is Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province.
