Former US President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are almost tied in three key battleground states: Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina.
According to a new poll released on September 26 by Marist College in New York, both Mr. Trump and his opponent Harris received 49% support from voters in North Carolina. In Arizona and Georgia, Mr. Trump only temporarily led by 1%, when 50% of potential voters in both states revealed that they would vote for the former White House leader, while 49% of voters leaned towards Ms. Harris.

Of the thousands of voters who participated in the survey from September 19 to 24, 91% said they were sure about their choice. According to The Hill, the three battleground states have a total of 43 electoral votes. Mr. Trump won North Carolina in both the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. He also defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in Arizona and Georgia in 2016, but lost to rival Joe Biden in both states in 2020, marking the first time a Democratic candidate won Georgia since 1992. Mr. Trump has firmly opposed the election results in Georgia, alleging that there was voting fraud there. However, these claims have been denied by many state officials, including Governor Brian Kemp and Mr. Trump's Republican Party. Another poll, conducted by the Siena College Research Institute in August, showed Harris with a significant lead over Trump in three other battleground states: Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. According to the survey data, the incumbent vice president is expected to have a 50% approval rating, far ahead of her Republican opponent, who has 46% support in all three states.Vietnamnet.vn
