Park Seo Joon makes a surprise appearance in Somi's Ice Cream MV

On August 2, Korean singer Jeon Somi officially released the English single “Ice Cream”. The product marks Somi’s comeback after 1 year, since the extended play “Game Plan”.

“Ice Cream” is a vibrant, fast-paced, powerful dance-pop song that is perfect for the fresh summer atmosphere.

The MV for the song is also made in a bright, dynamic style, simulating an ice cream truck with vibrant colors. In it, Somi shows off her beauty, attractive figure and attractive dancing ability.

In particular, the end of the MV brought a surprise when actor Park Seo Joon appeared. He only appeared for about 10 seconds, but Park Seo Joon's handsome "prince-like" appearance immediately caused a stir.

However, despite having a famous guest like Park Seo Joon, Somi's MV still encountered controversy.

Many people think that Somi's "Ice Cream" is a "copycat" of the MV of the same name by the senior group Blackpink, released in 2020. Not only do they have the same name, the tropical settings and summer colors in the two MVs also have many similarities.

Some viewers sarcastically commented that Somi's MV is only different from Blackpink's MV in the guest. If Blackpink collaborates with European-American star Selena Gomez, Somi collaborates with Korean star Park Seo Joon.

Additionally, a few reviews were less positive about the musical quality of “Ice Cream”.

They said that the song was a step down from Somi's previous hit, "Fast Forward." They expected something better, but were ultimately disappointed that "Ice Cream" wasn't explosive enough.
