Aiming at the goal of providing safe electricity, Ha Nam Electricity Company (PC Ha Nam) has developed a proactive response plan for all situations when there are incidents due to natural disasters, ensuring safety in power supply when the rainy and stormy season comes. During this time, PC Ha Nam also recommends that customers: do not stand near electric poles when it is raining or there is a thunderstorm; do not go near electrical equipment; do not carry anything to climb onto the roof, balcony, or swing from house to house near electrical works, power lines, or transformer stations; do not climb electric poles to repair or connect electricity...
In directing the work of natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue, PC Ha Nam focuses on inspecting the power grid and transformer stations, reconnecting contact points, replacing poor quality electrical equipment and lines, and clearing the power grid safety corridor. Regarding specific solutions, PC Ha Nam directs its affiliated power companies to inspect the entire power grid system, transformer stations, medium voltage lines, low voltage lines, electrical equipment, and evaluate and classify existing problems, limitations, and points that do not meet technical safety standards in operation for timely correction and handling.
The company also coordinated with relevant agencies to organize propaganda, warnings, and instructions for staff and people on measures to prevent, avoid, and respond to natural disasters. In the first quarter of 2024, the electricity companies of districts, towns, and cities have repaired and upgraded power lines, organized phase balancing, inspected connection points, cleared power grid corridors, maintained transformer stations, especially transformer stations serving water drainage, etc., striving to provide timely, safe, and stable power supply during the rainy and stormy season.
PC Ha Nam also directed the power companies to be ready to arrange 100% of staff and employees to be on duty 24/7 when there are storms; at the same time, prepare means and materials to promptly repair the power grid when an incident occurs.
In addition, to promptly respond to situations that may occur during this year's storm season, PC Ha Nam has developed a plan for natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue according to the "4 on-site" motto (on-site command; on-site forces; on-site materials and means and on-site logistics). During the exercise, PC Ha Nam directed officers and workers to participate in repairing and maintaining the actual power grid, concentrating forces at a district-level unit for the exercise. This approach not only improves the ability to proactively respond to natural disasters but also helps power companies maintain, repair and upgrade the power grid during the exercise.
Before the rainy season, PC Ha Nam also accelerated the investment and construction progress of key projects, proactively repaired and maintained the power grid, quickly leveled the load, and cut down thousands of trees violating the power grid corridor, ensuring a stable power supply for customers; instructed cadres, workers and people on measures to prevent, avoid and respond to natural disasters; advised people not to stand near power poles when it rains or there is a thunderstorm or lightning; not to go near electrical equipment; not to bring anything to climb onto the roof, balcony, or from one house to another near power works, power lines, or transformer stations; not to climb power poles to repair or install electricity; not to go near broken power lines or fallen power poles and to clean up without the consent of the person in charge of electricity to notify that the power has been cut off; Do not install antenna poles near power lines or transformer stations because the antenna poles can fall on power lines or transformer stations, causing short circuits, broken wires, and electric discharges that are very dangerous to human life. If you see a fallen power pole or broken wire falling to the ground, do not approach it, do not hold or grab the wire (must stay at least 10m away), and prevent others (including animals) from approaching. When the electricity in the house is damaged, it is mandatory to turn off the main circuit breaker and fuse before repairing the damage.
Mr. Vu Hoang Lam, Deputy Director of PC Ha Nam said: Regarding the preparation plan for the rainy and stormy season in 2024, PC Ha Nam has proactively reserved sufficient materials, equipment, and human resources to ensure on-call response to incidents and restore power supply to people; strengthen inspection and control to detect and promptly fix defects on the power grid and at transformer stations. For incidents that occur, PC Ha Nam directs units to actively and proactively monitor, analyze, and evaluate to find specific causes and find solutions to completely handle them, not to let them recur when the rainy and stormy season comes.
In addition to the above solutions, PC Ha Nam directed contractors and affiliated units to accelerate the investment and construction progress of key projects, proactively repair and maintain the power grid, quickly load-sharing, and ensure stable power supply for customers. The company also coordinated with functional departments to organize propaganda, warnings, and instructions for cadres, employees, and people on measures to prevent and respond to natural disasters.
Synchronously implementing the above solutions, PC Ha Nam strives to maintain the safety of the power grid during this year's rainy and stormy season, promptly overcome incidents caused by natural disasters, and promptly meet the electricity needs of organizations, production and business units and people in the area.
