The government aims to achieve an average GDP growth rate of approximately 7% per year by 2030; and a GDP per capita of around US$7,500 at current prices.
The proportion of agricultural workers in the total workforce is below 20%; the proportion of trained workers with degrees and certificates reaches 35-40%; the proportion of people of working age trained in basic digital skills reaches over 80%; and there are approximately 260 students per 10,000 people.
Vietnam is among the top 3 ASEAN countries in terms of industrial competitiveness; the industrial sector accounts for over 40% of GDP; the manufacturing sector accounts for approximately 30% of GDP; the proportion of high-tech industrial products in the manufacturing sector exceeds 45%; and the average per capita value added in manufacturing exceeds US$2,000. The service sector accounts for over 50% of GDP, with tourism contributing 14-15% of GDP.
Alongside this, the goal is to establish a number of large-scale, multinational domestic industrial corporations and enterprises with international competitiveness in fundamental, priority, and key industries; to build and develop a number of large-scale, internationally competitive domestic industrial clusters; and to master several industrial and agricultural value chains.
The digital economy accounts for approximately 30% of GDP. The country has completed the development of its digital government, ranking among the top 50 countries globally and third in the ASEAN region in terms of e-government and digital economy.
The urbanization rate has reached over 50%. Efforts are being made to achieve targets for efficient resource utilization (land, water, minerals), waste reuse, and waste recycling equivalent to those of leading ASEAN countries…
