NDO - On the morning of December 6th, in Quy Nhon city (Binh Dinh province), the Vietnam Science Meeting Association and the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), in collaboration with LOBI Vietnam, organized the 3rd Vietnam School of Biology (VSOB-3) with the theme "Bioinformatics Analysis of RNA-seq Data". The event attracted more than 40 experts, researchers, and young scientists in the fields of biology and biotechnology.
Biotechnology, particularly bioinformatics, plays a crucial role in research and application in fields such as agriculture, medicine, and the environment. Bioinformatics not only drives breakthroughs in science and technology but also contributes to the sustainable development of Vietnam's economy .
The Vietnam School of Biology (VSOB) is held annually to provide knowledge, techniques, and research methods in this field, creating a forum for reputable Vietnamese and international experts to share advances in research and application.

This year, VSOB-3 focuses on the theme "Bioinformatics Analysis of RNA-seq Data," combining theory and practice. RNA-seq is a powerful tool in modern biological research, allowing for the analysis of the entire transcriptome of a biological sample with high accuracy.
This process converts RNA into complementary DNA and sequences it, providing detailed information about gene expression, helping scientists uncover complex biological mechanisms and develop applications in medicine, agriculture , and many other fields.
This is an opportunity for young scientists and researchers to access the latest knowledge and techniques in the field of bioinformatics. |
In addition to training activities, VSOB-3 also featured the participation of domestic and international experts with important presentations. Dr. Deeksha Bhartiya, Director of Genomiki Solutions, India, presented on “Going Beyond the Basics: Innovative Applications of RNA Sequencing in Research”.
Dr. Vo Sy Nam, Director of the Biomedical Informatics Center, Vingroup Big Data Research Institute (VinBigdata), and associate lecturer at the Institute of Computer Science and Engineering (VinUniversity), also shared his insights on "Function-Oriented Analysis of Multisystem Omic Data in the Vietnamese Genome Program".
VSOB-3 maintains the principle of "Practice on real data" with the goal of "Students being able to perform bioinformatics analysis from ultra-basic to advanced levels." Therefore, even students without prior experience or knowledge in bioinformatics can participate in the course and acquire the necessary knowledge.
