Launching Ceremony of the 10th National Award for Foreign Information |
On March 28, in Hanoi , the Steering Committee for External Information Work, the Central Propaganda Department, and Vietnam Television held the launching ceremony of the 10th National External Information Awards.
2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the National Award for Foreign Information, which is also one of the important tasks to be carried out after the Politburo 's Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW, dated June 15, 2023, on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation was issued. The Award is increasingly expanded and innovated, in line with the development of types of works and products with foreign information value.

Speaking at the press conference, comrade Vu Thanh Mai, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, emphasized that the Award has important significance, demonstrating the Party and State's attention to foreign information work, contributing to improving the effectiveness of promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world.
Affirming the purpose of promoting the movement of creation and dissemination of foreign information in press agencies, news agencies, units, organizations, as well as individuals at home and abroad, comrade Vu Thanh Mai emphasized that the National Award for Foreign Information encourages creativity and innovation in foreign information work, contributing to building and developing the national image in the international arena. The Award opens up opportunities for a deeper understanding of the world around us and connects the vision of the Vietnamese foreign information community, opening up opportunities for exchange and learning between organizations and individuals, promoting common development, contributing to the national goal of foreign information.
Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vu Thanh Mai highly appreciated the journey of the National Award for External Information through nine seasons, affirming the brand of a prestigious national award with many unique, superior and distinctive features, expressed in the diversity and richness of participating works from within and outside the country, from professional, semi-professional to amateur authors.
Comrade Vu Thanh Mai expressed his belief that the country's development achievements are a source of inspiration and material for many excellent works for this year's Award. At the same time, the National Award for Foreign Information will contribute to effectively implementing Conclusion 57 of the Politburo on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation into practice, contributing to conveying, attracting public attention, and spreading widely to the community at home and abroad.
Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television Do Duc Hoang affirmed that the information platforms of Vietnam Television, together with the news system in many languages, will contribute to widely conveying information about the Award, attracting international friends. In particular, the foreign television channel (VTV4), with a large number of collaborators living in countries around the world, will be an effective bridge connecting authors in the overseas Vietnamese community, as well as foreign authors participating in the Award.
The 10th Foreign Information Awards consider and award foreign information works and products in the following categories: video clips; initiatives and products with foreign information value; photos; television; radio; books; Vietnamese printed newspapers; Vietnamese electronic newspapers and websites; foreign printed newspapers; foreign electronic newspapers and websites.
The works and products considered for the Award in the year are works/products posted on mass media; published, released, announced, created, applied domestically and internationally, during the period from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024. For works/products released before or after the above time, 2/3 of the duration and quantity of works/products must be published within the prescribed time.

The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2024.
According to the Organizing Committee, in 2023, the Organizing Committee of the 9th Award received 1,456 entries. The award ceremony was held on the evening of October 12, 2023 at the Hanoi Opera House. The Award Council selected 110 best entries/products to award prizes. Of which, there were 8 First prizes, 22 Second prizes, 30 Third prizes, and 50 Consolation prizes.
