Launching the "Happy Vietnam 2025" Award: Happiness is not a destination, but a journey

On the morning of May 22, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Vietnam Television, held a press conference to launch the annual media award on human rights called: "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2025".

Press conference to launch the annual human rights media award called: "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2025".

In 2025, Vietnam will make great strides in the happiness index, rising to 46th place in the world , up 8 places compared to 2024 and 19 places compared to 2023. This is an important milestone, demonstrating the world's recognition and appreciation of Vietnam's policies and achievements in ensuring human rights in recent years.

In that spirit, the "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2025" Award is organized with the aim of mobilizing the participation of the majority of people in the country, overseas Vietnamese and international friends in creating photos, videos or having creative ideas, telling good stories, meaningful discoveries on the topic of Happy Vietnam, thereby contributing to spreading positive images of the country, Vietnamese people, the precious cultural and historical traditions of the nation or the achievements of socio-economic development of the country to the public at home and abroad, contributing to enhancing the prestige and position of the country in the international arena.

Through the Award, the Organizing Committee wants to convey the message that Vietnam is moving rapidly and developing strongly and comprehensively in all fields: (1) breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; (2) International integration in the new situation; (3) Innovation in law making and enforcement; (4) Fast, sustainable, effective and high-quality private economic development.

The clearest evidence of the country's achievements in innovation and development and the people's happiness are the authentic, vivid stories in pictures and videos about the above topics created and submitted by the people themselves.

Authors, whether professional or amateur, Vietnamese or foreign, aged 15 and over can participate in the Award.

The entries will be carefully selected by the Organizing Committee according to specific and clear criteria, stipulated in the Award Rules and judged fairly and objectively by leading experts, journalists, prestigious photographers and filmmakers in 2 Judging Panels: Preliminary Judging Panel and Final Judging Panel.

Accordingly, the series of events, exhibitions and the Media Awards on Human Rights in Vietnam 2025 are organized with the aim of discovering and honoring meaningful stories about all aspects of Vietnam's political, economic, cultural and social life to vividly affirm the achievements that Vietnam has made in the field of human rights.

Mobilize the total strength of all classes of people in the country, the Vietnamese community abroad and international friends in communication work, promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world to affirm to the world that Vietnam is a peaceful, beautiful country, dynamically developing and a happy country.

Regarding the "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2025" Human Rights Media Award, Director Pham Anh Tuan said that the name of this year's award is: "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2025" Human Rights Media Award. Slogan: Happiness from simple things.

The award is open to Vietnamese citizens and foreigners aged 15 and over. The award includes 2 categories: Photo and Video.

General criteria for the content of the entries: Introduce and promote the image of the country, Vietnamese people, cultural and natural values ​​throughout the country; arouse national pride and aspiration for development in all classes of Vietnamese people to join hands to build an increasingly prosperous, prosperous and happy Vietnam.

The works will truthfully and vividly reflect Vietnam's development achievements in all fields, especially in the process of innovation, development and international integration; convey valuable information and knowledge to the public and have a wide spread at home and abroad.

The Jury will select the award through two rounds of Preliminary and Final, both online and in person.

Especially in 2025, when the whole country has many holidays and major events for people to express their happiness and pride. Notably, the success of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) has just been achieved, and we are also actively preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
