Company discovered discharging untreated waste into the environment in Hung Yen

(PLVN) - Receiving a report that a production facility in Chi Dao commune, Van Lam district (Hung Yen province) discharged wastewater into the environment that was cloudy, foamy, and had a strong acid smell, showing signs of discharging untreated industrial wastewater, the working group of the Economic Police Department of Hung Yen Provincial Police coordinated with Chi Dao commune police to verify and inspect.

Authorities discovered that at the drainage ditch of Canal C9 in Dong Mai village, Chi Dao commune, located close to Dong Mai Craft Village Company Limited, there was gray wastewater with a pungent smell and impurities flowing through a plastic pipe buried underground, connecting from the wastewater treatment system of Dong Mai Craft Village Company Limited to the drainage ditch of Canal C9.

Working with the Working Group, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuyen (born in 1955), representative of Dong Mai Craft Village Company Limited, affirmed that the wastewater pipe flowing into the drainage ditch of Canal C9 above is the Company's pipe, the amount of wastewater flowing through the pipe being discharged into the environment is the Company's wastewater generated during the production process.

During the working process, the Company representative could not present documents related to the above mentioned wastewater discharge activities into the environment.

The Economic Police Department, Hung Yen Provincial Police continue to investigate and verify to strengthen the case file.
