To date, the city has 181 LTHTGN Clubs with 8,684 members; of which, 5,325 are elderly. LTHTGN Clubs operate according to regulations, organize monthly activities, helping members raise awareness and understanding of social issues, legal policies, especially the legitimate rights and interests related to the elderly. Every year, most families with the elderly are recognized and re-recognized as "Cultural Families"; many households are recognized as "Outstanding Cultural Families", "Cultural Families for many consecutive years"...
Most of the LTHTGN Clubs have established a fund to increase income and supported 474 members in difficulty to borrow revolving loans to develop production and business, increase income, improve life... contributing to reducing the rate of poor households, escaping poverty sustainably; promoting the spirit of solidarity, mutual assistance, helping each other, spreading village and neighborhood love in the community. Club members actively participate in communication sessions to provide advice on knowledge, care skills, periodic health check-ups; physical exercise activities, cultural exchanges, arts, entertainment, etc.
The City Elderly Association's representative board proposed that the Government , ministries and relevant agencies continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Project to continue to be implemented in the coming time; support funding for implementing club activities, update current state agency documents related to the elderly as well as replicate the model of the Elderly Association Club in localities...
On this occasion, 2 groups and 3 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association; 18 groups and 49 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the City Elderly Association Representative Board for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Project "Replicating the model of LTHTGN Clubs for the period 2020-2025".
