Introducing to us the village lighting project that was put into use at the end of July, comrade Nguyen Tuan Anh, Secretary of the Chieng Sung Commune Party Committee, excitedly said: The commune has carried out socialization work, mobilizing agencies, businesses, cooperatives and people to contribute and install more than 200 solar lights along Provincial Road 110, through the commune center and Yen Binh, Tan Lap, Phuong, Sai Luong villages, 8 km long, worth 370 million VND. With lighting, people can travel conveniently, security and order are ensured and the criteria for building new rural areas are gradually completed.

Visiting Cao Son, Nong Son, Binh Yen, Tan Lap, and Hun villages, the infrastructure has been invested synchronously, with concrete roads, cultural houses, and solidly built sports fields. Ms. Can Thi Ngoc Thuyen, Cao Son village, Chieng Sung commune, said: Now, the narrow roads have been replaced by spacious concrete roads, and the cultural houses have been newly built, helping people have a place for community activities. People are very excited about the changes in the commune.

Implementing the new rural construction in the 2020-2025 period, Chieng Sung commune mobilized people to pour concrete on 8.1 km of inter-village roads, 2.7 km of intra-village roads, spread soil and rocks on 20 km of intra-field roads, and donated 2,408 m² of land for road construction. Up to now, 100% of commune roads are accessible to cars all year round; 68.25% of village and hamlet roads are concreted, creating convenience for motor vehicles. Every year, the villages maintain the cleanliness of alleys once a week, classify garbage in 26/26 villages, collect 100% of rural solid waste, and put up signs for 30 "Clean House - Beautiful Garden" models. At the same time, the commune built a "bright - green - clean - beautiful" Women's Self-Managed Road, installed surveillance cameras, contributing to environmental protection and ensuring security and order.

In addition, in the period of 2020 - 2025, Chieng Sung commune mobilized farmers to convert more than 1,088 hectares to grow fruit trees such as passion fruit, red-fleshed dragon fruit, mango, longan, avocado... in collaboration with Chieng Sung Agricultural Joint Stock Company to support seeds and techniques, maintaining the cultivation of over 6,000 hectares of corn and vegetables. At the same time, coordinate with Son La Sugarcane Joint Stock Company to plant 718 hectares of raw sugarcane; build a production chain linking 40 hectares of red-fleshed dragon fruit with Ngoc Hoang Cooperative, Ta Hoc commune. Total agricultural output reaches 17,000 tons/year; in 2024, the average income will reach nearly 41 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate will decrease to about 6.5%.

Ban Buc, Chieng Sung commune, was chosen to build a model new rural area. The village management board mobilized people to intensively cultivate 36 hectares of fruit trees, cooperated with Chieng Sung Agricultural Joint Stock Company to plant 10 hectares of seed corn, 130 hectares of sweet corn, 160 hectares of commercial corn and 15 hectares of vegetables; raised 1,500 cattle and 10,000 poultry. Mr. Luong Van Hien, Party cell secretary and village head, shared: The village has 202 households with 963 people. Thanks to economic development, people's lives have improved, they have the conditions to contribute money and working days to participate in concreting 3.2 km of internal village roads, repairing cultural houses, and eliminating temporary houses; the rate of poor and near-poor households has decreased to less than 3%.

Mobilizing maximum resources to build new rural areas according to the motto "mobilizing internal resources is the main thing; business support is important; State investment is necessary", "People do, State supports"... With a high determination, cadres, party members and people of Chieng Sung commune strive to achieve an average income of 50 million VND/person/year by 2030, reduce the poverty rate by 1.2%/year, and complete the goal of meeting new rural standards, with 12/26 villages meeting new rural standards.
