Steadfast soldiers - businessmen

The 23/9 Disabled Company located in Le Chan Ward consists of 18 members who are disabled soldiers and veterans of Division 328 who participated in the war to protect the northern border of the Fatherland. The company was founded by veteran Nguyen Ngoc Hoan, who is the Director, gathering comrades to provide small-scale freight transport services around the city. Over the years, the company has maintained stable operations with a minimum income of 7 - 8 million VND/person/month.

Self-reliance in life, contributing to the socio -economic development of the city is also the wish of war invalid Bui Nguyen Tam in An Bien ward, a soldier of the heroic 9th Division. Leaving the battlefield, Mr. Tam continued studying at the School of Commerce and worked at the Hai Phong Agricultural Products and Foodstuffs Company. After retiring, Mr. Tam opened Xuan Toan Coal Joint Stock Company in An Bien ward, with the concept that "only when the family's economy is stable can we have the conditions to help others". Over the years, Xuan Toan Coal Joint Stock Company has developed with nearly 20 agents in the city, creating jobs for dozens of workers. Sharing about his business journey, Mr. Tam said: "From the early days of building the company, I have always maintained a spirit of discipline, courage and responsibility, qualities that were forged in the army. That is the fulcrum that helps me overcome difficult times, especially in the context of fierce competition and global economic fluctuations". Not only building a stable business, Mr. Toan also actively supports and connects other veteran entrepreneurs to develop together, participates in charity activities, and shows gratitude to his comrades.

Along with the above two companies, the city currently has many businesses owned by war invalids and sick soldiers. The Hai Phong Veteran Entrepreneurs Association has 150 members. Among them, many war invalids with limited health and initial capital have relied on each other to establish businesses together. The city's War Veterans Association currently has 161 small and medium-sized enterprises, attracting 4,200 workers, 17 cooperatives with 817 workers, 85 production cooperatives attracting 795 workers, 291 farms with 1,500 workers, 1,250 family farms with 2,545 workers, 3,147 service business households attracting 6,370 workers... Of which, there are 8 enterprises with revenue of over 50 billion VND/year, 15 cooperatives and farms with revenue of over 10 billion VND/year...

Forever the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers

Affirming the achievements of the businessmen in military uniform, comrade Le Ngoc Ha, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Veteran Business Association, said that the association clearly identifies its core role in socio-economic development. Accordingly, the association always pays attention to and creates favorable conditions for members to develop production and business, organize legal consulting activities, train management skills, connect markets to improve competitiveness. At the same time, it promotes the movement "Veterans help each other to do good business", supports preferential loans, and shares start-up experiences with young members. In addition, other organizations such as the Veterans Association of the Enterprise Sector continue to encourage members to promote the traditional nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", focusing on administrative reform programs, digital transformation, application of advanced science and technology in production, business, services, charity activities, building cultural life in enterprises... At the same time, continue to promote connections with Veterans Business Associations of neighboring provinces such as Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, expanding the market for products and services.

The image of soldiers in the past who have now become business leaders, still maintaining the spirit of discipline, loyalty and social responsibility, contributes to beautifying the revolutionary tradition, fostering the cultural values of businessmen in the Port City: Courage - loyalty - dynamism - creativity.
