Many delegates attended the workshop and presented solutions for developing high-tech agriculture to adapt to climate change.
In recent years, the impact of climate change on the Mekong Delta, Southeast and South Central regions has become increasingly serious. Extreme phenomena such as prolonged drought, increased saltwater intrusion, complex landslides, lack of fresh water for production and daily life, unpredictable extreme weather, etc. threaten the livelihoods, production and sustainable development of the region. These challenges pose an urgent need to innovate agricultural production models towards high technology, apply advanced science and technology, improve adaptive capacity and reduce emissions.
Based on practice, at the workshop, delegates discussed and assessed the current status and impact of climate change on agricultural production, clarified challenges on food security and livelihoods; introduced and shared technologies and solutions for high-tech agricultural production such as automation, IoT, artificial intelligence, biotechnology to improve productivity, save resources and reduce emissions.

OCOP products of many localities were introduced at the workshop.
Many localities presented practical models of applying high technology in agricultural production, livestock, aquaculture to adapt to drought, salinity and climate change. Localities proposed many support mechanisms and policies on credit, agricultural insurance, land, investment incentive policies, innovation in high-tech agriculture; strengthening links and cooperation between the state - enterprises - scientists - cooperatives - farmers in technology transfer and replication of adaptive production models; connecting trade, exploiting opportunities from free trade agreements, expanding consumption markets for high-tech agricultural products.
Through the workshop, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho City and other localities expect to strengthen regional cooperation, form and develop high-tech agricultural value chains, contributing to ensuring food security, promoting green economy , reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving the ability to adapt to climate change in the new period.
