In the last term, the Long An Ornamental Plants Association (old) gathered and gathered a large number of artisans and enthusiasts of ornamental plants to participate in activities such as orchids, bonsai, ancient bonsai, dry trees, ornamental fish, ornamental birds, turtledoves, ornamental chickens, decoration, calligraphy, miniature landscape, ornamental pigeons, ornamental rocks, etc. From 600 members in the first term, the number of members has increased to 1,034 people. At the same time, the Association has established 12 local associations and branches, along with 11 branches by profession.
During the third term, the Association organized many practical activities such as competitions, displays and exhibitions of ornamental plant products, contributing to creating a useful playground, promoting the movement of artistic creation in the community. Through the annual competitions, the Organizing Committee awarded 29 Gold prizes, 38 Silver prizes, 54 Bronze prizes and 119 Encouragement prizes for outstanding works. At the same time, it achieved impressive results in competitions in other provinces and cities with 8 Gold prizes, 6 Silver prizes, 9 Bronze prizes and 29 Encouragement prizes.
In addition, the Standing Committee of the Association has proactively developed a plan to evaluate, honor and propose conferring the title of artisan to highly skilled members. Up to now, there have been 33 provincial artisans, of which 14 have been conferred the title of Vietnamese Artisan by the Central Ornamental Plants Association.
Implementing the policy of the Central Association, the Ornamental Plant Association of Long An province (formerly) closely coordinated with localities to conduct surveys and prepare dossiers to propose recognition of Vietnam Heritage Trees. As a result, 12 dossiers with a total of 29 trees and tree clusters were granted Certificates and Certificates of recognition of the title "Vietnam Heritage Trees" by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment.
In the coming time, on the basis of merging with the old Tay Ninh Provincial Ornamental Plants Association, moving towards establishing the new Tay Ninh Provincial Ornamental Plants Association, the Association will continue to promote the specific strengths of each locality, mobilize members to improve the quality of ornamental plant products, meeting the increasingly diverse needs of the people.
At the same time, the Association will develop the organization and movement of ornamental plants associated with the socialization of agricultural and rural economic activities, in order to protect and enhance natural landscapes, minimize the negative impacts of climate change, and aim to develop ornamental plants into an ecological economic sector.
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Association awarded certificates of merit to 54 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the third term./.
