CT scan showed a fractured and collapsed L1 vertebrae displaced posteriorly, causing spinal cord compression. The patient was then transferred to Lao Cai General Hospital No. 2 for treatment.

The doctors consulted and proposed a surgical plan to inject biological cement to create a vertebral body through the skin. 2 days after the surgery, the patient's health was stable, back pain was relieved and he could move gently.

In 2021, doctors at Lao Cai General Hospital No. 2 successfully received the transfer of surgical techniques for injecting biological cement to create percutaneous vertebral bodies from Viet Duc Hospital.

Since then, the hospital has successfully applied this technique to treat many patients with fractures (collapse, rupture...) of the vertebrae caused by osteoporosis, trauma or bone diseases.
