After performing imaging and testing, the doctor discovered abnormalities in the fetal area, and the mother was ordered to have an emergency cesarean section. During the surgery, the doctor discovered a twisted ovarian cyst with signs of necrosis, located on the right side of the fetus. After successfully delivering the baby, the doctors assessed the mother's condition and performed surgery to remove the cyst. The cyst was about 10 x 9cm in size and weighed about 200 grams.
Currently, both mother and child are in good health.

“Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that form on or in the ovaries; they can appear before pregnancy or form during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. Ovarian cysts during pregnancy are dangerous when there are complications such as torsion or rupture. These complications can cause abdominal pain, bleeding and can affect the fetus. Women of reproductive age should regularly visit a specialist to detect diseases and disease risks. Pregnant women need to visit a doctor to know the condition of the fetus and receive care instructions from the doctor,” Dr. Pham Thanh Ha, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Quang Ninh Regional General Hospital, recommended.
