This is an annual activity aimed at supporting children with birth defects and physical disabilities to access high-quality healthcare services, contributing to improving their quality of life and integration into the community.
Attending the program were Dr. Le Quang Tho – Deputy Director of the Phu Tho Provincial Department of Health; Mr. Dong Van An – Director of Center II; representatives from the Thien Tam Foundation ( Vingroup Group); representatives from the Phu Tho Provincial Children's Protection Fund and other partner organizations; and Dr. Pham Thai Ha – Director of the Phu Tho Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. The program also included a delegation of leading experts from central-level hospitals, along with the leadership and medical staff of the Phu Tho Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. In addition, hundreds of parents and children eligible for examination, consultation, and surgery in the 2025 program participated.
This year, the program brings together a team of experienced experts and doctors from central-level hospitals such as Bach Mai Hospital, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, Central Eye Hospital, and Saint Paul General Hospital; along with doctors from Phu Tho Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. The participation of many specialized units helps ensure that the consultation and surgery processes are carried out correctly, safely, and effectively.

Dr. Le Quang Tho, Deputy Director of the Phu Tho Provincial Department of Health, delivered a speech at the program.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Le Quang Tho, Deputy Director of the Phu Tho Provincial Department of Health, highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and professionalism of doctors and medical staff from within and outside the province, expressing confidence that the program would bring practical results and contribute to supporting disadvantaged children. He also requested that the participating units continue to strictly adhere to professional procedures and ensure safety in all surgical cases.
According to the plan, approximately over 100 disabled children under 16 years old are expected to undergo surgery from November 24th to 28th at Phu Tho Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. The cases will involve various types of deformities, including: facial deformities (cleft lip, cleft palate, nasal deformities, torn lips, etc.); post-burn complications causing body deformities; motor disabilities (fused fingers, extra fingers, scoliosis, congenital hip dislocation, etc.); ear and eye defects; genital and anal defects; and some benign tumors. Each case will be directly examined by leading experts to determine the appropriate treatment plan.

The Organizing Committee and partner organizations presented meaningful gifts to the children.
On the very first day of the program, more than 550 children were screened, had their records created, and participated in expert consultations. Many eligible cases will receive intervention during this period, giving children the opportunity to recover their functions, reduce congenital defects, and improve their motor skills and communication abilities.
The program not only has profound humanitarian significance, supporting hundreds of disadvantaged families, but also creates opportunities for doctors and medical staff in Phu Tho province to exchange experiences and access new techniques from leading experts, thereby improving professional quality and surgical capabilities.

The program is sponsored by the Thien Tam Foundation (Vingroup Group) and receives support from many organizations and philanthropists, creating a sustainable resource to continue supporting disabled children in the province in the future. The program's results are expected to bring more faith, hope, and opportunities to improve the lives of these children, while also contributing to the effective implementation of public health care and social security in Phu Tho province.
