The patient was admitted to the hospital with dull pain in the epigastric region, bloating, and early satiety. After examination and consultation, the doctor determined that the patient had a gastric GIST tumor and indicated surgery using modern stapler techniques. This is a method that uses medical staplers to cut and suture tissues during surgery.

Instead of using a traditional scalpel and suture, a stapler helps perform both operations at the same time, making the surgery quick, precise and less traumatic. The titanium staple closes the vessel, helping the patient to bleed less, perform accurately, preserve healthy tissue and recover quickly, with less pain and complications. After 30 minutes, the tumor was removed safely, without complications, preserving maximum healthy tissue - helping the patient recover quickly.

According to Master, Doctor, CK2 Nguyen Truong Duong, Deputy Head of General Surgery Department, Nam Sai Gon International General Hospital, GIST tumors are often silent, with few obvious initial symptoms, but can cause serious complications if not detected early. When one of the warning symptoms of the disease appears such as: epigastric pain, bloating; feeling full quickly, nausea; loss of appetite, weight loss, anemia, prolonged fatigue; black stools, vomiting blood (if the tumor is bleeding) ... need to be examined for timely treatment.
