Approval of dismissal of Mr. Tran Hong Ha from the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment

On the afternoon of May 22, continuing the 5th session, National Assembly deputies voted to pass a resolution to dismiss the position of member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, and to remove the duty of National Assembly deputy of the 15th term for Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong, from the National Assembly delegation of Dong Nai province.

Immediately afterwards, National Assembly deputies also voted to pass a resolution approving the dismissal of Mr. Tran Hong Ha , who is currently holding the position of Deputy Prime Minister, from the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (TN-MT) for the 2021-2026 term.

Previously, on May 16, Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong submitted a request to resign from his duties as a National Assembly delegate and from positions elected by the National Assembly, one day after the Central Executive Committee agreed to let him resign from his position as a member of the 13th Central Committee.

Also in the afternoon session, the National Assembly will consider and decide on personnel work for the positions of Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

In his opening speech, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said the National Assembly will carry out personnel procedures right from the beginning of the session.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue asked National Assembly deputies to consider and discuss carefully so that the decision on personnel work is strictly ensured, in accordance with Party regulations and State laws, and achieves high consensus and unity.

Previously, on January 5, 2023, at the 2nd extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly, with 481/481 delegates participating in the vote, the 15th National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the appointment of Mr. Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, to the position of Deputy Prime Minister.
