Approval of the Project for Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment in Hoang Lien

The scope of project implementation is on an area of 24,718.23 hectares managed by the Hoang Lien - Van Ban Nature Reserve Management Board and the entire buffer zone area of the Reserve in 10 communes: Nam Xe, Nam Xay, Minh Luong, Duong Quy, Tham Duong, Nam Chay, Nam Tha, Khanh Yen Ha, Khanh Yen Trung, Liem Phu (Van Ban district).

The project aims to develop Hoang Lien - Van Ban Nature Reserve into an attractive, professional, and branded eco- tourism destination. Preserve and sustainably promote the values of natural landscapes, forest resources, biodiversity, and create diverse types and products of eco-tourism, resorts, and entertainment, with unique characteristics of the reserve.

In the period of 2022 - 2030, the project strives to achieve the following development targets: Attracting at least 3 investors to conduct joint ventures, partnerships or lease forest environments to develop ecotourism. Attracting at least 10,000 visitors/year (international visitors account for at least 25%, domestic visitors 75%); the proportion of overnight visitors accounts for more than 30%; total annual revenue from ecotourism activities is estimated at 10 billion VND, of which annual revenue from leasing forest environments is at least 200 million VND; creating jobs for more than 300 workers (direct and indirect).

Strive to make ecotourism one of the main sources of income, affirming its role in promoting socio -economic development, supporting hunger eradication and poverty reduction, creating jobs and promoting the development of other economic sectors in the locality. By 2030, position the ecotourism brand of Hoang Lien - Van Ban Nature Reserve on the domestic and international tourism map; form typical products, specific types of tourism with high appeal and competitiveness of the Reserve. Increase visitor satisfaction, attract visitors to return many times with different experiences.

The project clearly defines the location and scale of construction of eco-tourism facilities; eco-tourism attractions; eco-tourism programs (routes); and connecting tourist destinations inside and outside the district.

The project has a total investment of 272.92 billion VND (including budget capital, forest environmental services, socialization, investment invitation, and other capital).
