Foreign films dominate the weekend box office race

Although two new works with a fresh, experimental perspective were released, Vietnamese films still could not surpass foreign films in the box office race last weekend.

According to statistics from the independent box office website Box Office Vietnam last weekend (November 7-9), the top 3 positions on the Vietnamese box office revenue chart all belonged to imported films, although their revenue was not explosive.

Topping the box office last week was the action-adventure film Invisible Beast: The Land of the Dead with a revenue of over 6.5 billion VND, 57,288 tickets sold and 3,420 screenings.

The film was also released simultaneously in North America last week, taking the top spot at the box office with a revenue of 40 million USD.

Sticking closely to the box office charts is a brand that is quite familiar to Vietnamese audiences, Tinh nguoi duyen ma 2025: Nham Mak yeu luon . This is the next part in the Tinh nguoi duyen ma series that is very popular with Vietnamese audiences. However, this latest film has not been as successful as expected, earning only over 5.9 billion VND with nearly 63,000 tickets sold.

The number 3 position last week belonged to the not-so-famous horror film Cinderella with a revenue of just over 3.2 billion VND.

In the top 5 box office, there are 2 Vietnamese films but both are previously released works, including Foreign Gold with more than 3 billion VND in revenue, bringing the total to more than 80 billion VND. Despite many controversies, Mo Cai, despite being involved in many controversies, still maintained the 5th position with a revenue of nearly 2.3 billion VND, reaching a total revenue of more than 18 billion VND.

Last week, two new Vietnamese films, Thai Chieu Tai and Trai Tim Que Quat, were not very successful.

Thai Chieu Tai ranked 7th with revenue of just over 1.5 billion VND. Along with revenue from early screenings and the number of pre-booked tickets, the film currently has reached over 2.3 billion VND.

Meanwhile, Lame Heart closed the top 10 but also earned less than 500 million VND. Currently, the film has only reached a total revenue of more than 560 million VND.

The remaining films in the top 10 include: Godzilla Minus One, Grave of the Fireflies and Party Crashers: Mom's Birthday .

This week, the market welcomes many new and highly anticipated releases.

Notably, the Vietnamese film "Tracking Ambergris" features a cast of familiar faces: Quang Tuan, Ma Ran Do, Hoang Toc Dai, Nguyen Thao, Doan Quoc Dam...

The imported films released this week are also quality works: No Snowflake Is Pure, Escape from Death, The Monk Meets the Swamp Monk, The Mountain of the Dead .
