Movie Ghost Dog surpasses 100 billion VND revenue mark

As of the evening of January 28, according to statistics from the independent box office website Box Office Vietnam, the horror film labeled T18 by director Luu Thanh Luan has officially surpassed the revenue mark of 100 billion VND.

"100 billion VND is not a small number. It is also a recognition of the artistic contributions of the film crew" - the official Fanpage wrote.

Director Luu Thanh Luan also expressed his emotion and gratitude to those who gave him the opportunity to direct a movie.

On his personal page, director Vo Thanh Hoa - who took on the role of artistic advisor for the film also shared: "After 37 days of tireless efforts, along with the love of the audience! We did it. Now is the time to keep our feet on the ground, keep our hearts as warm as when we started, keep our heads cool to always make the right decisions. Let's get started on the next project, our crew."

As of the evening of January 28, Ghost Dog still topped the box office revenue for the day with nearly 1.2 billion VND in tickets sold. Most likely, the film will end up at number 1 for the 5th consecutive week on the box office revenue chart. This also means that the film will surpass the previous record of Mrs. Nu's House , set during the 2023 Tet season.

With early screenings from December 22 before its official release on December 26, Ghost Dog has established a series of impressive box office achievements.

In the first week of release, the film was overshadowed by Aquaman 2 and the Lost Kingdom , Soul Eater and stopped at the top 3 position. But after 4 consecutive weeks, the film successfully reversed the trend.

Specifically, the film earned more than 13 billion VND in the second weekend (from December 29 to 31). The week from January 5 to 7, the film earned more than 10 billion VND. The week from January 12 to 14, the film increased to more than 11 billion VND. The week from January 19 to 21, the film also topped the box office with nearly 5 billion VND.

Dog Ghost tells the story of a family that makes a living butchering dogs. The story follows Nam (Quang Tuan) returning to his hometown with his girlfriend when he receives news of a mysterious and horrifying truth behind his father's passing.
