Despite the ban, railway cafes in Hanoi still welcome customers. Tourists gather and pose on the tracks and right next to running trains, causing disorder, traffic insecurity and potential risk of accidents.
The railway coffee street along Tran Phu – Phung Hung Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) is a place that attracts a lot of domestic and international tourists. This place has been closed and banned from business many times due to the reason of not ensuring the safety of the railway corridor.
However, despite the ban and warnings of danger, many coffee shops continue to spring up along Tran Phu - Dien Bien Phu Street, attracting a large number of tourists.
Tourists leisurely sit drinking coffee on both sides of the train tracks and taking photos in the middle of the tracks.
The neighborhood was bustling as if there were no danger warning signs.
Most of the visitors to this place are foreigners who have heard about the train street coffee area in Hanoi.
Tourists leisurely sit drinking beer and coffee next to the train tracks.
Many tourists casually pose and sit in the middle of the tracks to take pictures.
Street vendors sell goods on the train tracks.
As the train passed, all the tourists were excited and took pictures of this image.
The fenced area at this section of the road has signs warning of dangerous areas, prohibiting large gatherings, filming, taking photos, walking, standing, sitting on the railway, placing tables, chairs, and displaying goods on the railway track and both sides. However, there are no security forces blocking the area. Therefore, people and tourists can still enter and exit easily.
As the afternoon progresses, the train street cafes attract many young people and tourists to take pictures.
Many cafes and shops here are only about 1 meter from the railway tracks. According to railway traffic safety regulations, the minimum distance of the safety corridor is 3 meters. For railway lines in operation, any activity affecting this safety corridor is a violation.
