For about a month now, the ornamental tree street has been selling all kinds of plants and flowers for Tet, from colorful peach blossoms, lush yellow kumquats, to baskets of phalaenopsis orchids, roses, and many other typical flowers. The vendors carefully arrange each flower pot and each ornamental tree for customers to easily choose from.

The highlight of the market is the luxurious orchid baskets, diverse in color and design, with prices ranging from several hundred thousand to several million VND, suitable for the needs and preferences of many people.

According to Ms. Huong - owner of a chain of 4 orchid shops on Hoang Hoa Tham street: "My shop uses all Da Lat Phalaenopsis orchids - a high-class flower that is popular with customers. To prepare for Tet, I have imported 100,000 orchids with more than 100 different flower colors. The average price of each plant is 250,000 VND, an increase of about 10% compared to normal days. The "S" (super vip) orchid line is the highest-class line, standing out with long branches and about more than 20 flowers on the stem.

Customers can choose the flower type, color and number of plants so that the shop can design flower pots to their liking. For example, a pot of 5 orchid plants will cost about 1.5 million VND. The artisans are busy making pots for customers.

Ms. Huong also shared that currently in Hoang Hoa Tham street area, there are many traders selling Chinese orchids at cheaper prices. However, this type of orchid has smaller flowers, fades quickly and is of lower quality than Da Lat orchids.

In addition to traditional ornamental plants such as peach and kumquat, the market also sells many unique plants such as southern yellow apricot, mini bonsai, and feng shui plants.

Traders also cleverly introduce new types of plants such as narcissus, poinsettia, chrysanthemum or plants with the meaning of fortune to meet the diverse needs of customers.

In addition to traditional flowers, this year Mr. Tuan - a flower shop owner at the intersection of Buoi and Hoang Hoa Tham streets - has imported red banana flowers, a typical flower of the Northwest highlands. According to Mr. Tuan, red banana flowers have eye-catching and unique colors that are easy to display in the Tet space, and are expected to attract many customers.

Traders said that the prices of flowers and ornamental plants this year have not fluctuated much, making it easy for customers to choose.

Mini kumquat pots cost only from 100,000 - 300,000 VND, suitable for small spaces.

High-end bonsai trees or orchid baskets can cost up to tens of millions of dong, suitable for houses with large spaces.

Not only displayed in stores, flower stalls appear along the sidewalks and on mobile flower-carrying motorbikes, making the neighborhood always colorful.

Peach and plum branches are also available for sale, providing more options for customers who want to decorate their homes in a traditional style.

The colorful "new coat" of thousands of flowers blooming at Hoang Hoa Tham ornamental tree street makes the space full of Tet atmosphere. People passing by here seem to walk slower to admire the myriad of flowers and breathe in the spring air.
