Expressing her emotions when receiving the two Professors - outstanding Vietnamese intellectuals abroad, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that over the past decades, the two Professors have not only affirmed their prestigious position in the international scientific community, but also continuously contributed to the development of science and education in Vietnam through dedicated activities such as organizing international scientific conferences, founding the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), as well as many programs to support students and children in difficult circumstances.
"Despite their advanced age, Professor Thanh Van and Professor Kim Ngoc still maintain the perseverance and courage of scientists to spread the love of science to the young generation and the Vietnamese people," the Vice President emotionally shared.
Emphasizing the importance of building a strong national science foundation, the Vice President said that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo sets a breakthrough goal in developing science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation to enhance the country's competitiveness. Most recently, Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo clearly states breakthrough goals in developing education and training.
With these favorable policies and guidelines, the Vice President said that it is necessary to spread the passion for scientific research to today's young generation; create spaces and environments for people to approach science, making science an important foundation in production and socio-economic development of the country.

Acknowledging the valuable wishes and suggestions of the two Professors, the Vice President requested that ministries, branches and organizations coordinate with the two Professors to research and implement meaningful and appropriate activities; at the same time, remove obstacles; mobilize capable intellectuals, organizations and businesses to participate, create a common strength, and implement major policies of the Party and State on science and technology development.
On this occasion, the Vice President wished the two Professors good health, continued enthusiasm and passion to inspire the younger generations, accompany the development of the country's science, and contribute more to Vietnam, the international scientific community, and the Vietnam-France friendship.
Thanking the Vice President for taking the time to meet him, Professor Tran Thanh Van shared his feelings when returning to the country on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, creating an emotional and proud atmosphere for the people in the country as well as overseas Vietnamese around the world. This is not only a great national festival but also a strong source of inspiration, strengthening the belief of every Vietnamese citizen in the bright future of the country.
Welcoming the important guidelines and policies in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, Professor Tran Thanh Van said that the two important resolutions have opened up breakthrough decisions for science-technology and education-training. The President of the Vietnam Rencontres du Sciences Association pledged to continue to accompany individuals, organizations, localities, ministries, sectors... to contribute to realizing that aspiration.

Along with the proposal to establish and build a model of "scientific discovery centers" in localities for children, Professor Tran Thanh Van suggested that Party and State leaders continue to pay more attention to having mechanisms and policies to retain and attract more young Vietnamese talents abroad as well as international experts to contribute to the development of science in the country.
Previously, in July 2025, Professor Tran Thanh Van and Professor Le Kim Ngoc were honored to be promoted to Officer of the Legion of Honor by the President of the French Republic. The promotion of this noble Order is not only a worthy recognition for the two Professors' tireless dedication to science and the younger generation, but also a source of pride for the overseas Vietnamese community and the homeland of Vietnam.
