Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly visits and works in Son La province

In an atmosphere of solidarity and friendship, the delegations of the Lao National Assembly and Son La province discussed the results of cooperation between Son La province and the provinces of Northern Laos; shared experiences in supervising the implementation of agreements of the People's Council, including the implementation of strategic cooperation projects on socio-economic development and infrastructure development of Son La province with 9 provinces of Northern Laos, contributing to maintaining security and stability in the border area as well as promoting cooperation between Son La province and the provinces of Northern Laos.

The two sides also informed and shared the results of the implementation of the Resolutions of Vietnam and Laos, including the very important task of implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus of the two countries, especially the establishment of commune-level governments...

Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of Son La Provincial Party Committee, sincerely thanked the Party, Government and National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic for always paying attention and creating favorable conditions for the development of close relations and comprehensive cooperation between Son La province and the northern provinces of Laos.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of Son La Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee informed the Lao delegation about the province's socio-economic development situation in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025; cooperative relations with provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, key results in the period of 2022-2024 and the first quarter of 2025; results of the supervision work of the Provincial People's Council and national defense and security work for the 2020-2025 term.

The two sides also exchanged experiences between the Lao National Assembly and the Vietnamese National Assembly; and shared experiences between the two National Assemblies between Son La province and the northern Lao provinces in inspecting, supervising, promoting the resolution of issues related to national defense, border security, infrastructure construction and resolving difficulties of people in border areas.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi, Vice President of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, expressed his joy at the development of the special relationship between Laos and Vietnam and Son La province with the northern provinces of Laos.

Delighted and excited to visit and work in Son La province, Senior Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, thanked the leaders of Son La province for welcoming the delegation with great respect and respectfully conveyed the warm greetings of the Chairman of the Lao National Assembly to the leaders of Son La province.

Vice President of the Lao National Assembly Suvon Luongbunmi expressed his gratitude for the great and effective support and assistance that the Party, State and people of Vietnam in general and Son La province in particular have given to the Lao Party, State and people up to now.

Over the years, Son La province has continued to provide much support and assistance to Laos, especially the 9 northern Lao provinces that Son La province has twinned with and supported over the past time.

Senior Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi informed: The purpose of this working visit of the delegation is to implement the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed in 2024 and implement the results of the talks.

Congratulating the important achievements that Vietnam and Son La province have made in recent times, the Vice President of the Lao National Assembly expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve many new and greater achievements in the renovation process, successfully implementing the goals set by the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and was pleased with the development of the special Laos-Vietnam relationship...

Comrade Khonpakhan Luongxichanxong, Chairman of the People's Council of Huaphanh province, Lao People's Democratic Republic informed about the results of cooperation in a number of fields in recent times with Son La province.

Expressing his joy at welcoming the Lao delegation, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, affirmed: Vietnam and Laos are two close neighboring countries, the brotherly relationship between Vietnam and Laos was formed and nurtured throughout the thousands of years of history of building and defending the country of the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

Son La province is adjacent to Huaphanh and Luang Prabang provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic , and is always proud to be a bridge contributing to deepening the relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
