On September 25, at the Center for Culture and Arts No. 22 Hang Buom Street, the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter coordinated with units and individuals to organize the opening ceremony of a series of cultural activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025.

Mid-Autumn Festival has long become one of the important festivals, not only containing unique cultural features, but also carrying many profound humanistic meanings in Vietnamese life.

In the Old Quarter, where many cultural quintessence of Thang Long-Hanoi are preserved, for many years, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District has done a good job of preserving and promoting the value of traditional cultural heritage.

The annual Hanoi Old Quarter Mid-Autumn Festival has become a unique cultural landmark, an annual meeting point awaited by the community.

Promoting that tradition, after switching to operating under the 2-level local government model, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward continues to organize many attractive cultural and artistic activities, creating a vibrant environment and atmosphere for Mid-Autumn Festival activities of the people, especially children.

The 2025 traditional Mid-Autumn Festival in Hanoi's Old Quarter includes a series of activities at historical sites. One of the important highlights of the 2025 traditional Mid-Autumn Festival is the introduction of the project to restore the ancient lion head - a traditional Mid-Autumn toy, which has been associated with the childhood memories of many generations of researcher Kevin Vuong.

Along with the traditional lion head toy, there is also a discussion "Introducing the project Trang Ta - Recreating traditional lion heads and applying heritage in contemporary life" on September 27, at Kim Ngan Communal House, 42-44 Hang Bac.

Here, the speakers will discuss the journey of researching and recreating heritage, and at the same time, provide multi-dimensional perspectives on the application of heritage and traditional art and culture in contemporary design. “Our Moon” not only recreates a beautiful memory, but also opens a dialogue on how to keep heritage alive in today’s life, both preserving its soul and bringing new breath.

Meanwhile, Phung Hung Street Mural Space is brightly colored with festival lights and many fun activities for children with the theme of Fairy Moon Season. The main activities are folk games and creative games related to subjects such as: Science , Technology, Engineering and Mathematics for children attending.

In particular, on the evening of October 3, the "Full Moon Festival" lantern procession will take place around the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake, recreating the beauty of the ancient Mid-Autumn Festival in the capital's unique cultural space.

Within the framework of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival 2025, there will also be a children's fashion show where children will wear costumes associated with Mid-Autumn colors and folk cultural motifs, while combining creative and youthful design styles.

Through the program, the Organizing Committee hopes to contribute to promoting heritage education activities in the capital, raising awareness of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, developing a creative educational ecosystem in the community, aiming to form a generation of citizens who understand heritage culture; at the same time, creating cultural products bearing the mark of peace and integration.
