Associate Professor - Dr. Tran Khanh Thanh suddenly passed away

Associate Professor - Doctor Tran Khanh Thanh, former Vice Chairman of the Central Council for Literature and Art Theory and Criticism, has just passed away at the age of 68, determined to be due to a stroke.

Associate Professor - Doctor Nguyen The Ky, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, said that Associate Professor - Doctor Tran Khanh Thanh (born in 1957, from Nghe An province) passed away at around 8:00 p.m. on May 11 at the hospital due to a stroke, at the age of 68.

Mr. Nguyen The Ky said that Associate Professor - Doctor Tran Khanh Thanh was a classmate of the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi University of Science with him but studied 3 courses above him (Course 19).

After retiring from the Faculty of Literature - University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Mr. Thanh worked with Mr. Ky at the Central Council for Literature and Art Theory and Criticism.

Mr. Nguyen The Ky is the Chairman of the Council, and Associate Professor - Dr. Tran Khanh Thanh is the full-time Vice Chairman of the Council for the 2021 - 2026 term.

After the Central Council of Literature and Art Criticism merged with the Central Council of Theory, Associate Professor - Doctor Tran Khanh Thanh became Deputy Head of the Subcommittee of Literature and Art Criticism of the Central Council of Theory.

According to Mr. Nguyen The Ky, Associate Professor - Doctor Tran Khanh Thanh is a serious, careful and dedicated scientist.

“During this term, Associate Professor - Dr. Tran Khanh Thanh has helped me and the Council a lot,” Mr. Ky said, expressing his condolences to his brother and colleague.
