Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang inspects anti-smuggling work in Quang Ninh

Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Bui Van Khang, Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, said that smuggling, trade fraud and illegal transportation across the border continued to be controlled, with no outstanding incidents in the province.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang works with Quang Ninh province on the situation of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

Specifically, the functional forces in the province have arrested and handled nearly 2,200 cases, with the value of violating goods reaching more than 18 billion VND (an increase of 6.16% in the number of cases, a decrease of 2.6% in value compared to the same period in 2022). Of which, 475 cases were violations in the field of domestic tax, with administrative fines of 70.34 billion VND, and additional tax collection of 133.3 billion VND.

In addition, the functional forces of Quang Ninh province have criminally prosecuted 28 cases/32 subjects (a decrease of 3.4% in the number of cases, a decrease of 23.8% in the number of subjects compared to the same period in 2022); handled 1,960 administrative violations, the proceeds from the liquidation of confiscated goods and administrative fines of 20.7 billion VND...

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang noted that Quang Ninh province needs to further improve the effectiveness of coordination between functional forces on the border. Continue to strengthen the work of preventing smuggling and trade fraud.

In particular, it is necessary to prepare conditions to meet management requirements when the volume of imported and exported goods increases. Focus on the application of information technology in management, in which the immediate task is to quickly build, complete and put into operation the digital border gate model.
