Non-communicable diseases are a group of diseases that progress silently, lasting for many years, and are difficult to detect early without regular check-ups. Most people are subjective and only go to the doctor when there are obvious signs of declining health, leading to late detection, causing dangerous complications that are difficult to treat.
Faced with this situation, the provincial health sector has strengthened health care measures for people; promoted the prevention of non-communicable diseases, focused on propaganda work, and raised people's awareness of this disease. Communication activities on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases in the province have been promoted on many platforms such as radio, television, electronic news sites, and social networks, contributing to raising people's awareness of risk factors and benefits of changing healthy lifestyle behaviors. The content of news and articles focuses on propaganda on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, while recognizing the efforts of the local health sector in early detection, management and treatment of diseases at the grassroots level. Thereby, it has contributed to spreading positive messages and mobilizing community participation in protecting and improving health. In 2024 alone, the entire industry will conduct direct communication on over 18,300 seminars, health talks, group discussions, and nearly 600,000 individual health consultations. Along with promoting propaganda, every year the provincial health sector focuses on organizing training courses to improve professional capacity for medical staff. At the same time, it strengthens the control of risk factors; preventive activities for high-risk and pre-diseased people; organizes screening forms, early detection of people with diseases; organizes campaigns for screening for non-communicable diseases combined with periodic health check-ups, medical examination and treatment... at medical facilities; promotes mobile medical examination and treatment in remote, border and island communes of the province.
