According to Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, senility is the result of many factors, including disease and aging, which manifests itself differently in each person.
Along with senility, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thi Tho said: Vietnam is one of the countries with the fastest aging rate in the world . The elderly in Vietnam are suffering from many diseases. Although life expectancy has increased, on average, each elderly person has to endure the last 14 years of their life with many combined diseases such as cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and many types of cancer... Injuries or diseases can seriously affect the health of the elderly, even making them disabled and dependent on others.
From these realities, experts also emphasize the importance of preventing aging, with a scientific diet, regular exercise and participation in social activities as the key to helping each person have a long life and healthy aging.
In addition, Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Toan Thang also introduced the significance of stem cell therapy in preventing and treating aging problems. In particular, the technology of separating stem cells from umbilical cords is being researched with the expectation of bringing new prospects in reducing the burden of disease in the elderly, bringing a healthier and better quality of life.
