On the afternoon of March 17, on the occasion of International Women's Day, at the National Assembly House, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, wife of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, had a meeting with the ASEAN Women's Community Group (AWCH) including female ambassadors, ambassadors' wives and representatives of ASEAN embassies.
Madam Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and members of the AWCH Group visited the National Assembly's traditional room - where images and documents about the development of the Vietnamese National Assembly, activities of the 15th National Assembly, and foreign affairs activities of the National Assembly Chairman are stored.


The group was also introduced to the archaeological exhibition area under the National Assembly building with strong vestiges of the culture and architecture of ancient Thang Long.
The archaeological exhibition area under the National Assembly building with about 400 artifacts and nearly 10 archaeological sites, brings an attractive and impressive feeling to the exhibition space.
The female diplomats admired the exhibition space, with simulations of a Ly Dynasty palace architecture, recreated like the excavation scene. The system of 42 light poles, to suggest to the public the visualization of 42 wooden pillars of a Ly Dynasty palace architecture.



Before ending the tour, Madam Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and female diplomats also watched documentary films introducing Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
The AWCH group shared that the group was established in 2015, right at the time of the formation of the ASEAN Community with the overarching goal of connecting women from ASEAN countries and partners, bringing ASEAN closer to the people and the international community. From the initial starting point of including members from ASEAN countries, the group gradually expanded and formed a network with the participation of 19 ASEAN partner countries.
The group's activities are increasingly growing, diverse and rich, such as ASEAN Family Day, ASEAN Food Festival, and many charity programs to support people in difficult circumstances, especially women and children.

The group has always received support and assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the wives of senior leaders, and most recently, Ms. Ngo Phuong Ly, the General Secretary's wife, accepted the invitation to be the group's guest of honor.
Ms. Sujatha Ramachandra, Spouse of the Singaporean Ambassador, shared that the AWCH Group has made many contributions to spreading ASEAN's diverse and vibrant cultural identity to international friends, contributing to realizing ASEAN's common vision of solidarity, progress, peace and prosperity.
The group’s practical activities over the past 10 years have been valuable contributions to the building of a people-centered ASEAN Community. Looking forward, AWCH members will continue to join hands to contribute to realizing ASEAN’s aspirations, for the sustainable development of the ASEAN Community.

In a space imbued with Vietnamese culture, the tea artisan introduced the quintessence of Vietnamese tea to the wife of the National Assembly Chairwoman and female diplomats. For Vietnamese people, tea is memory, affection, and connection between people. When guests come to the house, a cup of tea opens the conversation. Intimate sharing lasts around cups of fragrant tea.
Madam Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga presented the AWCH Group members with a traditional Vietnamese gift, expressing her feelings and wishes that the group will continue to grow, honoring the contributions of ASEAN women, not only as a solid support but also proactively creating development opportunities for the community and for the community.
