Over the past 5 years, thoroughly implementing President Ho Chi Minh 's teaching "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation", Lao Cai ward has continuously strived to comprehensively complete and exceed the 2020 - 2025 plan targets.

Average income per capita in 2024 will reach 115 million VND/person. Industrial production value in 2025 is estimated at 2,900 billion VND. Production value per unit of cultivated area is estimated at 401 million VND/ha. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue will reach 73,657.9 billion VND.

Tourism and services have grown rapidly with highlights such as the Thuong Temple relic complex, connecting the Lao Cai - Sa Pa - Y Ty - Bac Ha tourism arc. State budget revenue in 2025 is estimated at 3,965 billion VND, total social investment capital in the 2021 - 2025 period will reach over 20,000 billion VND, double that of the 2016 - 2020 period.

Regarding urban development, the ward has completed the planning, reaching an urbanization rate of 45.5%. Implementing many large projects such as: upgrading 153 streets with a length of 69.45 km; undergrounding power and telecommunication lines, paving 184,197 m² of sidewalks; commune roads and rural traffic are gradually changing towards modernity and civilization.

The cultural and social sector has developed stably. The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas" has reached 100% of villages with standard cultural houses and 94% of cultural families. Jobs have been created for about 10,000 workers, the poverty rate has decreased from 2.63% in 2020 to 1.11% in 2024. Security and order in the area continue to be maintained.

At the conference, the ward awarded Certificates of Merit to 19 collectives, 27 individuals and commended 59 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020 - 2025.

On the afternoon of August 26, the People's Committee of Van Ban commune held a conference on typical advanced models for the period 2025-2030, commending 57 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement.

Attending the conference were leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, along with representatives of departments, branches, unions, Party cell secretaries, village heads, and outstanding collectives and individuals in patriotic emulation movements in the area.

Over the past 5 years, the patriotic emulation movement in Van Ban commune has achieved many impressive results. Movements such as building new rural areas, solidarity and creativity to improve productivity, "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", "All people protect national security" have been widely and effectively deployed.

Notably, the average income per capita of the commune has reached 58 million VND/year. The commune currently has 9 villages meeting new rural standards and 3 villages meeting new rural model standards. During this period, over 3,600 groups and individuals were awarded at all levels, many of whom were awarded certificates of merit by the Prime Minister, the Provincial People's Committee, and the District People's Committee (before the merger).
