This year, the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi , will enroll 2,350 students, an increase of 200 compared to 2023.

On the morning of March 1, a representative of the Training Department, University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said that the standard training program quota is 2,000 and the international linkage quota is 350.

The school said it will maintain four admission methods as in 2023, including: Direct admission and priority admission; Admission by foreign language certificate; Considering the capacity assessment test scores of Hanoi National University; Considering the high school graduation exam scores. Of which, the quota for the graduation exam score method is the highest - 1,000.

In the direct admission method , in addition to applying the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training to candidates with national and international awards, the school considers two other groups of candidates.

One is candidates for the selection exam for the international Olympic team; members of the national team for the international science and technology competition. They need to have an average score of 8 or higher in their overall study and the average score of three subjects in the admission group (grades 10, 11 and 12), and a high school graduation exam score that meets the threshold to ensure the input quality of the industry (this level will be announced later).

The second group is the group of candidates from the specialized system of Hanoi National University, specialized schools, and key schools nationwide. The conditions for direct admission are that students win first, second, and third prizes in regional and international science and technology exhibitions and creativity competitions; Olympic competitions, and competitions for excellent students of Hanoi National University in Foreign Languages.

With the admission method using foreign language certificates , the school considers candidates with VSTEP certificates (English proficiency test according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam) from B2 or higher, organized by the school; candidates with IELTS English certificates from 6.0, TOEFL iBT from 79 points or other international foreign language certificates from B2 or higher. These candidates must have a total graduation exam score of the remaining two subjects in the admission group from 14 points or higher (Math or Literature is required).

In addition, the school considers candidates with A-Level certificates with three subjects (Math or Literature required) according to the combinations, achieving 60/100 points for each subject, SAT score from 1100/1600, ACT score from 22/36 or higher.

With the admission method using the results of the competency assessment test , candidates need to have a graduation exam score of 6 or higher in the Foreign Language subject and a competency assessment score of Hanoi National University of Science and Technology of Vietnam of 80/150 points or higher or a competency assessment score of Ho Chi Minh City National University of Science and Technology of Vietnam of 750/1200 points or higher.

The fourth admission method is based on high school graduation exam scores. The admission score is the total score of the exams, according to each admission combination, in which foreign language is doubled, plus priority points. Each major has only one admission score, without distinction between admission scores between combinations.
