Prelude 2025 highest price over 1.3 billion, most expensive Honda car in Japan?
According to leaked information from Japan, the all-new 2025 Honda Prelude hybrid coupe will officially launch next September with a price that will surprise many people.

Honda Prelude 2025 – will officially launch next September with a price that will surprise many people. Although not officially announced, if the leaked numbers are correct, Prelude will become one of the most expensive models in Honda's domestic product portfolio. Specifically, the only standard version of the 2025 Honda Prelude is said to cost 6,179,800 yen (equivalent to 41,000 USD - about more than 950 million VND).
Meanwhile, the limited edition 2025 Honda Prelude "Honda ON Limited Edition" with some special equipment installed at the dealer will cost 6,540,000 yen (about 43,400 USD - about more than 1.3 billion VND). Thus, this hybrid coupe model of Honda will have a higher price than Civic Type R, Nissan Fairlady Z and even Toyota GR Supra in the Japanese market. Comparing prices, the Civic Type R is selling for between 4.99 and 5.99 million yen, the Nissan Fairlady Z starts at 5.49 million yen with a 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine, and the GR Supra with a 2.0L turbocharged engine made in Austria starts at around 4.99 million yen.
The Honda Prelude is positioned as a sportier and more premium two-door coupe than the Civic. It shares its platform with the Civic e:HEV but gets significant performance and design upgrades. The Prelude will use an upgraded e:HEV hybrid powertrain, combining a 2.0L gasoline engine and two electric motors. In addition, the car is also equipped with many components from the Civic Type R such as the dual-axis front suspension, Brembo brakes and extended front axle – all of which are specifically tuned for this coupe. In terms of equipment, the Prelude is expected to have 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive damping system, metal gear lever, 10.25-inch digital screen and 9-inch central screen with Google integration.
The 2025 Honda Prelude interior is finished with leather and suede upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and multi-color interior lighting. Honda will officially launch the Prelude on September 4, 2025. Honda will open orders for the 2025 Prelude from September 5, with an initial production run limited to 2,000 units. If the above price is maintained in international markets, the Prelude could become a hybrid sports coupe with a price close to high-performance models from major brands.
