Zabarnyi is set to join PSG. |
According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG has reached a verbal agreement with Zabarnyi on salary and a five-year contract before official negotiations with Bournemouth begin. Currently, the Paris team has also agreed to pay the transfer fee of 70 million euros as requested by Bournemouth.
French newspaper RMC Sport also said that a number of top clubs, including Premier League side Tottenham, were also willing to meet Bournemouth's asking price for Zabarnyi. However, the Ukraine international only wants to move to the capital Paris and is not considering other offers.
Zabarnyi's potential arrival at the Parc des Princes is expected to be a major change in PSG's defence. Brazilian defender Lucas Beraldo has already asked to leave PSG after failing to gain a starting place. With Zabarnyi set to join, Beraldo's departure is even more likely.
Zabarnyi, 22, is a promising centre-back in Ukrainian football. He made his international debut in 2020 and has made 49 appearances. He also played 39 games for Bournemouth last season. He is expected to compete with Marquinhos, Willian Pacho and Presnel Kimpembe for the centre-back position at PSG.
Zabarnyi is expected to make his debut against Tottenham on August 14 in the European Super Cup.
