Where the achievements of the Industry and Trade sector converge

During our business trip to the city of red phoenix flowers, we felt the transformation of Hai Phong through the "flower seasons" and the point that kept us there was the Hai Phong Industry and Trade Trade Promotion Fair 2024.

It is known that, implementing the Plans of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City on Implementing the Project on Developing the Domestic Market in association with the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in Hai Phong city for the period 2021-2025; the plan on Organizing the Hai Phong Industry and Trade Trade Promotion Fair 2024; Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with relevant units is pleased to organize the Hai Phong Industry and Trade Trade Promotion Fair 2024.

The fair aims to strengthen cooperation, expand economic exchanges between localities, improve production capacity and competitiveness of enterprises in the trend of international economic integration.

Assessing the significance of the Fair, Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, highlighted: The Hai Phong Industry and Trade Trade Promotion Fair in 2024 is being implemented as part of a series of activities to celebrate major holidays in the historic month of May, the 69th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the Red Flamboyant Festival - Hai Phong 2024.

“This is an opportunity to connect trade, study, exchange experiences, cooperate, link production and business; help businesses and production establishments introduce and promote product brands to domestic and foreign consumers, find direct partners and potential customers for product output; strengthen cooperation between Hai Phong with provinces and cities across the country and foreign partners” - Mr. Le Khac Nam said.

The leaders of the City People's Committee emphasized that through the Fair, Hai Phong wishes to continue promoting and introducing the image, products and culture of the Seaport City to domestic and international friends, in order to strengthen cooperation, expand economic exchanges between localities, improve production capacity and competitiveness of enterprises in the trend of international economic integration and regional linkage, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the city in particular and the whole country in general.

Talking to reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Phong said that the Fair and Exhibition is also a place to gather and introduce economic development achievements through trade promotion activities, contributing to helping consumers fully and correctly perceive the production and business capacity of domestic manufacturing enterprises, the quality of Vietnamese products, goods and services; creating opportunities for industrial and commercial production enterprises of provinces and cities to connect, trade, learn and exchange experiences.

At the same time, it helps promote the role of the State and relevant organizations in market management to protect consumers and support domestically produced goods, create a healthy and sustainable business environment for Vietnamese goods, and increase the consumption of Hai Phong city people for Vietnamese goods and services.

Help businesses and production establishments introduce and promote Vietnamese product brands to domestic and foreign consumers, find direct partners and potential customers for product output through the Fair's activities.

Strengthening cooperation between Hai Phong city and provinces and cities across the country; expanding economic cooperation and exchange between sectors and localities; linking production, business, trade, and sustainable development; contributing to improving production capacity and competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in the trend of international economic integration and regional linkage.

During 6 days, the Fair attracted over 50,000 visitors and shoppers.

Thanks to the efforts of the local government in general and the Department of Industry and Trade in particular, the Fair attracted more than 200 booths, including 70 booths of 23 trade promotion units of provinces and cities, and nearly 200 commercial booths of 88 enterprises and production units.

“The quantity and types of goods displayed and consumed at the Fair are over 450 types of goods. Of which, the main products are OCOP products, regional specialties, typical local specialties, accounting for 85%. The remaining 10% are OCOP products on handicrafts (bronze, wood, porcelain, ceramics,...) and consumer goods, household appliances, furniture” - Director of Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade informed.

The joy of "flower seasons"

Sharing about the results achieved, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh said that in 6 days, from May 17, 2024 to May 22, 2024, the Fair attracted over 50,000 visitors and shoppers, with nearly 10,000 visitors shopping at the Fair on the opening day alone. Sales during the 6 days of the Fair reached about 10 billion VND, with an average daily sales of about 1.6 billion VND from 111 participating units.

“In general, the items displayed and consumed at the Fair were evaluated by visitors and residents as being diverse, unique, of guaranteed quality, and reasonably priced. Enterprises and production and business establishments participating in the Fair complied well with regulations on goods and prices. The Fair achieved the required goals in Plan No. 98/KH-UBND dated April 17, 2024 of the City People's Committee,” informed Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh.

Many goods at the Fair are rich, unique, of guaranteed quality, and reasonable prices.

Sharing with reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, many units participating in the Fair assessed that, compared to previous times, this Fair attracted tourists from the quality of products, quantity of products, and the scientific and beautiful arrangement of booths. Booths participating in the Fair ensured both quantity and quality of products, and the items displayed and sold at the Fair were assessed by customers as having guaranteed quality and reasonable prices. Enterprises, production and business establishments participating in the Fair complied well with regulations on goods and prices.

According to the reporter's records, the security, order, traffic safety and traffic flow are organized properly. Security and safety work is carried out throughout the Fair. Food safety inspections are carried out well before, during and after the Fair, to prevent food poisoning. Backup generators are arranged, well-organized and timely power supply is ensured throughout the Fair.

In order to expand and develop the domestic market for OCOP products, typical specialties of Hai Phong and promote Hai Phong to provinces and cities at home and abroad, the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Phong recommends that the People's Committee of the city, districts and towns continue to pay attention, annually arrange funding from the beginning of the year to organize more thoughtful activities to invite businesses to participate in the Fair, with more diverse products to create conditions for management agencies, businesses, investors, manufacturers, distributors to meet, exchange and seek partners, sign cooperation agreements, and link to expand the market.

To achieve these results, it is the solidarity and wisdom in implementation and direction of the Department of Industry and Trade, along with the correct and accurate advice of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Phong) from inviting many quality units to participate, to organizing the event reasonably, postponing the opening time a few hours earlier, so that households can take advantage of the opportunity to introduce their businesses, find markets... thanks to that, the results of the Fair exceeded expectations and were a motivation for the Department of Industry and Trade to strive to do better in the assigned tasks.
