Aspiration to expand the main road into the society

In the journey of socio-economic development, transport infrastructure always plays a "lever" role, creating a driving force for connection and opening the way for trade. With Lien Minh commune (merged from 3 communes of Luong Lo, Do Son and Do Xuyen), the only road running through the area not only serves the travel needs of the people, but is also the lifeline connecting trade between the locality with neighboring areas and large industrial parks and clusters around. Therefore, upgrading and expanding the Thao dike from Au Co ward to Chi Tien commune, including 15km through the commune, is the desire and aspiration of the Party Committee, government and people here.

Aspiration to expand the main road into the society

Thao dike is the main artery to Lien Minh commune.

Renovated since 2007 on the old dike foundation, the road connecting Phu Tho ward to Chi Tien commune has made an important contribution to the socio -economic development of the area. However, after nearly two decades of use, the road surface has seriously degraded. The old dike foundation, originally made of alluvial soil, is now sunk and sagging, creating many broken sections, potholes, and potholes. There is no drainage system on both sides of the road, causing frequent flooding during the rainy season, with some places reaching knee-deep, posing a danger to road users and affecting people's daily life and production.

Meanwhile, the traffic volume is increasing. Not only serving the travel needs of the people in the commune, this route is also the main axis for goods from 70 enterprises in the area to connect with large industrial parks and industrial clusters such as Phu Ha, Nam Thanh Ba, Bai Ba, Dong Thanh. Most of the trading activities, exchange of goods, agricultural products, construction materials of all three communes of Luong Lo, Do Xuyen, Do Son (old) must pass through here. In particular, with a road surface of only 5.5m wide, roadbed of 6.5m, the current narrow condition makes it difficult for two large trucks to avoid each other, causing congestion and potential risk of accidents.

Comrade Tran Thanh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Lien Minh Commune Party Committee shared: “This is the only vital road connecting the people of the three old communes with the center and from Lien Minh to neighboring localities. The prolonged degradation not only affects daily life, but also hinders economic development and hinders the flow of local trade. Renovating and upgrading the Thao dike section through Lien Minh is the number one priority task set by the Party Committee and the commune government in this term.”

In fact, since the merger and implementation of the two-level local government model, the Party Committee and the government of Lien Minh commune have paid special attention to economic development and improving people's lives. In particular, for the old Luong Lo commune area, the focus is on developing rice, trade and services, and supplying construction materials. The old Do Xuyen commune area continues to maintain and promote the strengths of agriculture , vegetables, tubers, fruits, and 4-star OCOP products from bamboo and handicraft bamboo. In addition, the focus is on agricultural production and small-scale industry and taking advantage of revenue from labor export to promote local trade and services.

However, poor transport infrastructure has become a bottleneck that hinders development. Many businesses report difficulties in transporting goods and high logistics costs, especially when large trucks have difficulty moving. Agricultural products and handicrafts have limited access to markets. People have difficulty traveling, and bringing products to the central market or connecting industrial zones takes more time and costs.

Not only that, daily life is also affected, especially in the rainy season, when the roads are muddy and flooded. Households living along the road also have to endure water flooding into their yards and houses every time it rains heavily, due to the lack of a drainage system. Some sections are also encroached upon by dike corridors, making the already narrow road even more cramped. Potholes appear, and many sections of the road are sagging, posing a danger to people when participating in traffic.

During this term, the Party Committee of the commune has identified developing production, increasing income, reducing poverty sustainably; investing in building rural infrastructure, including renovating and upgrading roads, as the top priority tasks. The Party Committee, government and people of Lien Minh commune all hope to receive attention and support from all levels and sectors in terms of resources to complete this goal.

Many people also believe that when the road is expanded and has a synchronous drainage system, the rural appearance will change significantly, opening up opportunities for the development of trade, industry, and handicrafts, attracting investment enterprises, creating more jobs, and improving people's lives. From there, it will also open the way for the Alliance to develop more and more, worthy of the potential and strengths available in the locality.
