District 12 starts construction of a project to upgrade residential roads worth over 1,300 billion VND

On the morning of June 27, the People's Committee of District 12 started the project to upgrade and expand Tan Thoi Hiep 21 Street, District 12, with a total investment of VND 1,315 billion from the city budget.

Mr. Le Van Ban, one of the households affected by the project, expressed his joy when the project started. According to him, Tan Thoi Hiep 21 road has been seriously degraded for many years, posing a danger to traffic participants, especially when it floods after rain.

The upgrading and expansion of the road contributes to the completion of infrastructure, ensuring the needs of people for travel and transport of goods, contributing to improving urban aesthetics, environmental sanitation, and flood prevention. Therefore, he personally continues to mobilize people to promptly hand over the site to ensure the progress of the project; join hands to build a civilized and beautiful urban road.

Machinery preparing for project construction

Vice Chairman of District 12 People's Committee Nguyen Minh Chanh said that the project has a total investment of VND1,315 billion; of which, VND1,023 billion is for compensation, support, resettlement and relocation of technical infrastructure; VND292 billion for construction and related costs. The expected construction period is from June 2025 to the end of 2026.

This is one of the eight key projects and programs according to the Resolution of the District 12 Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. The project aims to relieve traffic congestion and connect traffic smoothly; thoroughly prevent flooding in the area; beautify the urban area, improve the living environment and complete traffic and technical infrastructure.

In recent times, the People's Committee of District 12 has directed the urgent and drastic implementation of compensation, site clearance and resettlement (accounting for 78% of the total investment capital). The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of District 12 thanked the people for showing their sense of responsibility, consensus, support and close coordination with the government, contributing to the completion of necessary procedures, ensuring the progress of the project's commencement.
