>>> Readers are invited to watch a video about the Ukrainian Army destroying Russian artillery positions on the front line.
The 44th Artillery Brigade of Ukraine carried out a precision strike on Russian artillery positions on the southern front line, destroying three long-range artillery systems and a military transport vehicle. The Southern Operations Command released a video recording the entire battle.
According to the released images, Ukrainian forces used drones to conduct reconnaissance and identify targets, then deployed artillery to attack the identified positions. The destroyed systems included a 2A36 Giatsint-B gun and two 2A65 Msta-B guns. These are Soviet-made 152mm towed guns capable of long-range fire and are often used by the Russian army to provide fire support from the rear.

The 2A36 Giatsint-B has a range of 28 to 33 km, while the Msta-B has a similar range. Both guns play an important role in long-range artillery strikes against Ukrainian defenses and infrastructure. Eliminating these systems would significantly reduce artillery pressure from Russia.
During the operation, at least one truck accompanying the Russian artillery was also destroyed at the scene. Footage shows direct hits on the positions, causing serious damage to the equipment. The attack took place in harsh weather conditions, with high temperatures and intense fighting.

According to reports from combat units, Ukrainian forces have effectively combined aerial reconnaissance with ground fire, demonstrating an increasing ability to conduct coordinated strikes. Frontline artillery units are being supported by live data from drones, allowing for rapid target identification and fire adjustment.
According to sources from the front, the exchange of artillery fire between the two sides is still taking place at a high density in the southern front line, especially in the border areas between Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. Here, both sides have deployed many heavy artillery systems, unmanned aerial vehicles and ground combat vehicles.
Previously, the Ukrainian army also released images of using Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns donated by Germany to effectively intercept Shahed suicide drones used by Russia.
