The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) has just issued a plan to monitor, inspect, and handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

The plan was issued in the context that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just directed the establishment of a special task force and launched a peak campaign to crack down on smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and goods of unknown origin.

Accordingly, in the recently issued plan, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development requires closely following market developments and proactively reviewing goods at risk of being exploited for speculation and smuggling such as medicines, functional foods, cosmetics, gasoline, sugar, cigarettes, fertilizers, etc.

At the same time, coordinate with local authorities and functional forces to inspect and strictly handle cases of smuggling, manufacturing and trading of counterfeit goods... Especially in key areas such as: Hanoi, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Thanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Da Nang, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An , An Giang, Tay Ninh, Can Tho...

Authorities emphasized that acts of trading in counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods that violate intellectual property rights on e-commerce platforms and social networks will be strictly inspected and handled.

The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development requested the Market Management Sub-Department (QLTT) to immediately deploy monitoring and inspection activities in the management area; resolutely fight to prevent violations.

At the same time, closely coordinate with functional forces to organize interdisciplinary inspections, surprise inspections in key areas and fields; regularly review and inspect the circulation stage, especially business locations; warehouses, yards, gathering points, commercial centers, supermarkets, wholesale markets, production facilities, craft villages, etc.

The local Departments of Industry and Trade are fully responsible to the Provincial People's Committee, directing the Market Management Department to carry out peak inspections from May 17 to June 17 and maintain them in the following months. The leaders of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development will directly inspect and urge in key areas.

Recently, authorities have continuously cracked down on fake food production lines, many cases causing public uproar. For example, the Ministry of Public Security discovered 573 brands of powdered milk for people with diabetes, kidney failure, premature babies, and pregnant women. Recently, many fake functional food production lines have also been discovered.
