(NADS) - On the morning of March 31, according to news received from the Quang Binh KaraTedo Federation, athletes from Quang Binh province won 15 medals, 3 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals and 7 Bronze Medals, ranking 11th out of 17 delegations at the 10th Central Highlands Karate Tournament in 2024.
This year's tournament takes place from March 28 to March 31 in Dak Lak province. It gathers 350 athletes from 17 delegations from provinces and cities in the Central Highlands region including: Binh Thuan , Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, Nghe An, Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang City.
The athletes competed in 74 individual and team events for men and women in different age groups. In this tournament, the Quang Binh delegation won 3 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals and 7 Bronze Medals. With that achievement, the Quang Binh delegation won 11th place overall.
3 gold medals went to athletes: Nguyen Hoang Anh (40 kg men's weight class, age group 10-11), Dinh Hung Chiet (35 kg men's weight class, age group 10-11), Phan Hoang Dung (40 kg men's weight class, age group 10-11), Le Gia Khanh (40 kg men's weight class, age group 10-11). Nguyen Duong Tuan Dung won a bronze medal in the men's kumite category over 60kg. Hoang Le Binh Minh won a bronze medal in the 40kg individual kumite category for 12-14 years old. Hoang Le Binh Minh won a bronze medal in the 12-14 years old team kata category. Hoang Le Binh Minh won a bronze medal in the 12-14 years old team kata category. Ho Nguyen Quoc Minh won a bronze medal in the 12-14 years old team kata category. Nguyen Thi Bao Ngoc won a bronze medal in the 40kg female kumite category for 12-14 years old. Dinh Hung Chiet - Gold medal 35kg 9-11 years old. Tran Dang Khoi - Silver medal 40kg 9-11 years old. Nguyen Xuan Vu - Silver medal Individual Kata Men 12-14 years old, Silver medal 45kg 12-14 years old. Lang Van Thin Bronze medal Kumite over 18 years old.
This tournament aims to create opportunities for athletes in the Central Highlands region of all ages to compete and improve their skills to aim for higher tournaments in the future.
Although the unit is young compared to other units, Quang Binh Karatedo team has risen and achieved quite impressive results with 15 medals (HC) won in the tournament.
